We always aim to do our best to help with any queries relating to local history in connection with places in the Solihull Borough or former Rural District, but please book in advance of visiting The Core Library, if you need to view any books, photos, maps or archive documents.
This means we can ensure that you don’t have a wasted journey and that there is someone available to help you.
Please contact us by phone or email in the first instance to let us know what you are looking to find out or what documents you want to view. If it’s more convenient for you, we may be able to supply copies free of charge by email, copyright permitting of course.
If you’re looking for something in particular, it’s worth checking the main library catalogue for any published books as well our heritage catalogue for any archive collections or local studies documents. You can then let us know exactly what you want to view.
If you do visit us without having an appointment, we can’t guarantee that you will be able to view documents or be able to talk to a member of staff who has the specialist knowledge to best be able to help.
