Shirley Library Reading Group - August session

In August, the Shirley Library Reading Group will be going classical and visiting/revisiting works of classic fiction.

From Jane Austen to Charles Dickens, Mary Shelley to John Steinbeck and everything in between, we'll be exploring the world of classic fiction and asking 'what makes a book a classic'? Does a classic have to have been published years ago or are there newer books that have already cemented their place in the literary world? Come along and join in the discussion.

Shirley Library Reading Group - July session

In July, we'll be reading our way around the world through travel titles.

It could be a book about a favourite place you've been to or somewhere totally new. Whether that's a quirky look at life backpacking around the globe or an exploration of a place of great importance, browse our travel shelves, find a title and take yourself on a journey through the pages of a book.
