Jessica Hausner directs this German coming-of-age drama. Barbara Osika stars as Rita, a moody, insolent teenager on the verge of womanhood whose confused sexual awakening leads her to seduce both a much younger schoolboy (Christoph Bauer), and a bus driver (Peter Fiala). As her efforts to break out of her solitude and the claustrophobic atmosphere of her bourgeois Catholic family life isolate her more and more, her state of mind veers inexorably towards violence and despair.
